The larger than life Diamonds

The Rock - a giant diamond is causing a scene in the mid as it is on show in Christie’s Dubai branch right now, ahead of the auction where this pear shaped diamond is expected to fetch over $30 million.

Weighing in at 228.31 carats this is the largest white diamond to ever come to auction. Mined originally in South Africa more than 20 years ago.
After being on display until the 29th March the diamond will travel to Taipei, New York and Geneva, where it will be auctioned on May 11th.
The Rock, as it is nicknamed, is the largest D-Z colour pear shaped diamond ever graded, it is G colour, VS1 clarity.
What is it about the 'Wow Factor' that huge diamonds have? There is such attraction to something so rare, and so valuable, not to mention the pure magic of viewing something so very beautiful.

Here at Luxury Portal we do not quite have a 228 carat diamond to offer - BUT! we do have something quite special in a ten carat diamond ring.
It's seen here in these photographs and we are all rather taken with it!
